People sometimes ask me, “Why do you spoil those little dogs so much?”
Well… here’s the truth—my dachshunds aren’t just pets, they’re family. These little long-bodied, short-legged characters bring me joy, security, and endless laughter every single day.
Here is why they’ve earned every treat, belly rub, and cozy blanket they get:
1. Small but mighty bark.
They may be short and long (this is why they are also called sausage dogs), but when they bark, you’d think a German Shepherd or Doberman just moved in.
2. My personal security guards.
No need for CCTV when you have three (3) dachshunds on duty. If someone even walks past our gate, I hear about it right away.
3. Born hunters.
It’s in their blood—as hound dogs, they’ll chase down rats, lizards, and even small birds if given the chance. Keeps the house pest-free without a single trap.
4. Party crashers in disguise.
When visitors come over, my dachshunds put on a show—rolling, barking, dancing—doing everything possible to be the center of attention.
5. My emotional anchors.
They just know when I’m feeling down. Sometimes they quietly sit beside me, other times they pull a silly stunt until I’m laughing again.
So yes, I spoil them—and I’ll never apologize for it.
Because they give me more than I could ever give them.
